With 7 German buttons in the front and 2 on the chest pockets that have pocket flaps. With model 1940 Wehrmacht chest eagle machine-sewn. The collar is of a German model with a model 1940 Wehrmacht collar mirror machine-sewn. With sewn-on hems and German buttons on the shoulders to attach shoulder flaps and with a rare pair of Cossack shoulder flaps in thin model silver (see black and white image of a Cossack wearing thin shoulder flaps). On the arm arm badge in cotton hand-sewn for Don Cossack units. Down the arms 2 silver stripes hand-sewn for the rank/service Spiess. German belt loops sewn in on the sides and 2 German buttons sewn in at the back to keep the belt in place. Inside with beige cotton lining and with 1 inner pocket. At the back of the collar, 3 buttons are sewn on to fasten the wear collar. Size approx. 48 and the jacket has a tiny moth hole at the back of the shoulder (see close-up), otherwise the jacket is in lovely condition. - A very rare Cossack jacket
TROUSERS: The trousers are of a Dutch model sewn in greyish smooth fabric. Correct model. Then the Cossacks have sewn on the red stripes along the sides (see black/white picture of Cossacks with red stripes along the sides). Complete with all buttons in the fly and at the bottom with both drawstrings. Back with drawstring with buckle. Inside with gray cotton lining. Stamped with the manufacturer and another slightly indistinct stamp. Size approx. 50 and the trousers have some wear points and some small moth holes, but not much. - A very rare Cossack trousers !!!
HAT: German-made Cossack hat in green uniform fabric with black sheepskin. On top with red cotton and machine-sewn silver braids. The red color is for the Don Cossack regiment (see picture from a book of other Cossack regiments where they use other colors). In the front Wehrmacht cap eagle and cockade in zinc attached with splinters where all the splinters at the back are taken. Inside with gray quilted cotton lining and stamped with the manufacturer P.K. KOLWITZ. Unmeraag PRAGUE. (Prague is in Bavaria). Also stamped with size 58. Also written owners initials E.R. two places. This hat is called Ushanka because the sheepskin can be folded down (see pictures). One small moth hole on the inside of the green fabric, otherwise in very nice condition. - A very rare Cossack Ushanka hat !!! |
